CEO was hospitalized, LeTV’s visit to Britain and contract signing with Aston Martin canceled

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai Oct 22)- Jia Yueting, the president and chief executive officer of LeTV Auto Ltd. ( short for LeTV), was absent from the visit to Britain led by president Xi Jinping, which caught attention from the field of automobiles.

Out of bad healthy condition, Jia Yueting had been hospitalized since last week according to 21st Century Business Herald. As a result, the signing with Aston Martin, a British luxury automobiles manufacturer, was postponed.

“The lack of rest after thymoma surgery and the intense working schedule caused his bad healthy condition which led to his absence from the visit to Britain,” an insider of LeTV told 21st Century Business Herald. “It is said that the thymoma surgery Jia Yueting received in Hong Kong turned out to be successful. He has returned to Beijing for the follow-up treatment in hospital,” said Wang Ran, president of China E Capital, on his micro-blog in November 2014.

During four days before the visit, LeTV had been sparing no effort to prepare for its important global press conference which was supposed to be held on October 27 2015. In order to make a good preparation, Jia Yueting often stayed up late to talk about details with his team. Meanwhile, the strategic investment in Easy Transport Ltd. has arrived at the deciding phrase, to which Jia Yueting had paid high attention. Therefore, he had to participate in all kinds of important discussions and decision making.

Because of his bad health, Jia didn’t attain the preparatory meeting for the global press conference on October 18. Besides, he didn’t show up on the regular meeting over which he should have presided as CEO of LeTV.

It was reported by 21st Century Business Herald that the signing with Aston Martin which was planned to be held in Britain had also been canceled by LeTV. Even schedules of other entourages of LeTV were affected out of this. As there is still some supplements to be made to the cooperation agreement and the visit to Britain failed to be realized, the signing with Aston Martin had been postponed by LeTV. And the date of signing has not been determined yet.
