Dow Jones reported that China northeastern Jilin province will aim to have a new energy vehicle production capacity of 100,000 units a year by 2015 with fully electric vehicles making up over half of that amount.
Xinhua said citing unnamed government departments that Jilin will soon issue a policy to subsidize research and development and the construction of infrastructure related to new energy vehicles.
Auto maker FAW Group Corp which is based in Jilin will speed up the development of new energy vehicles during China 12th five year plans from 2011-2015.
