Gasgoo.com (Shanghai December 28) - China imported a total of 79,800 vehicles in November, China Securities News reported today. The figure, which comes from China Automobile Trading, is 26.1 percent lower than last November's import amount.
Passenger automobiles accounted for 78,800 of those imports, also over 25 percent less than last November. Among them, total monthly imports of sedans, SUVs and minivans totalled 45,600 units, 56,500 and 4,300 units respectively. Once again, SUVs accounted for the majority of imports over the month. Imports in each of the above three segments decreased from last November to this November.
BMW remained the most imported automobile brand, followed by VW, Audi and Land Rover. Out of the top 15 imported automobile brands, Toyota was the only Japanese one.
CATC attributes the decline in imports in November to decreasing consumer demand.
