Chinese cars go on sale in Belarus

Xinhua - Chinese car manufacturer Geely will start selling its Belarus-assembled cars in the eastern European country this month and in Russia this Spring, according to its local operation.

Set up in 2011, The Belarusian-Chinese joint venture "BelDzhi" will first launch the Geely SC7, a sedan that will cost approximately $12,990.

The project's first stage is scheduled to produce 60,000 cars a year for its first three years, with capacity doubling in 2017 after the second stage is completed.

BelDzhi's assembly facilities are located in Zhodino and Borisov.

It is planned to market the Belarusian-Chinese cars in Kazakhstan and the European Union in the future.
