Dongfeng Motor, CATL Lock in Next Five-Year Cooperation to Build Ultra-fast Charging and Swapping Ecosystem

Edited by Betty From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich- On Oct. 29, Dongfeng Motor and CATL signed a group-level strategic cooperation agreement — the third of its kind between the partners. Their collaboration now bridges three Five-Year Plans: from building a battery supply chain in the 13th, to tackling high-end products and battery recycling in the 14th, and now, in the 15th, mapping out an integrated ultra-fast charging and swapping ecosystem globally.

The agreement centers on two priorities, starting with the layout of an integrated ultra-fast charging and swapping ecosystem.

According to the plan, the two sides will jointly develop next-generation ultra-fast charging technology. Voyah, MHERO, and EPICLAND will be the first to feature 10C-and-above charging products, significantly slashing charging times. Meanwhile, the partners will co-develop battery swapping architectures for both passenger and commercial vehicles. This will introduce swapping systems to mid-to-high-end brands like eπ, EPICLAND, and MHERO, while supporting Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle and Chenglong in launching swappable models — achieving full-scenario coverage across passenger and commercial sectors.

In overseas markets, the pair will leverage global resources to build a joint after-sales network and push for localized supply from production bases, boosting supply efficiency in international markets.
