Gasgoo Munich- On Nov. 4, FUTURUS officially launched its Transparent Panoramic Head-Up Display, or TPHUD. The system adds a nanoscale photonic crystal film to the windshield, enabling full-width lateral information display without the traditional black band along the bottom.
The film selectively reflects specific light wavelengths, preserving the windshield's transparency while projecting driving data laterally across its lower edge. The result is a display that balances brightness and clarity without compromising the driver's field of view.

Traditional HUDs rely on optical projection confined to a limited area. TPHUD pushes those boundaries, expanding the display zone while minimizing any loss of windshield transparency.
FUTURUS founder and CEO Xu Junfeng filed patents for full-window transparent display technology as early as 2016. The company later supplied panoramic displays for BMW's "Hyper-Interface" immersive digital cockpit concept in 2019, and rolled out a full-window transparent display demonstrator in 2024.
On the production side, FUTURUS HUDs are already fitted to models like the Li Auto L9, NIO ET9, Lynk & Co 900, and ZEEKR 9X. Cumulative shipments of its HUD products have topped 1 million units as of 2025.
FUTURUS sees TPHUD as a step toward merging spatial displays with personal AI interaction. For now, the company hasn't disclosed which models will adopt the technology or when it will hit the market.
