BYD hits production milestone of 17 million new energy vehicles

BYD has reached another landmark in its electrification journey, announcing that its 17 millionth new energy vehicle (NEV) rolled off the production line at its Xi'an manufacturing base on July 8.

The milestone makes BYD the first automaker globally to achieve cumulative production of 17 million NEVs. The vehicle selected to mark the occasion was the newly launched Seal 08, the flagship sedan of the company's Ocean Series.

Autoliv, XPENG deepen partnership with strategic collaboration agreement

On July 7, Autoliv and XPENG signed a strategic framework agreement in Guangzhou aimed at expanding their long-standing partnership beyond the traditional supplier-customer relationship. The agreement reflects a shared commitment to strengthening long-term cooperation through closer collaboration in product development, engineering and supply chain integration, while establishing a broader strategic partnership designed to support sustainable growth for both companies.

Under the agreement, the two companies will work together across several strategic areas, including technology integration, digital transformation, low-carbon and sustainability initiatives, next-generation technology development and global business support. The collaboration is intended to improve innovation efficiency and operational coordination as the automotive industry continues its rapid transition toward electrification, intelligent mobility and international expansion.

RoboSense Delivers 719,200 LiDAR Units in H1, Robotics Business Surges 510%

RoboSense sold 719,200 LiDAR units in the first half of the year, a 170% surge from a year earlier. Sales in the robotics sector jumped 510% to 282,600 units, while the ADAS segment climbed 98% to 436,600 units. That growth cements the company's "robotics plus automotive" dual-engine strategy.

In the second quarter specifically, total sales hit 388,900 units. Robotics sales surged 182% to 97,100 units, while ADAS volume rose 136% to 291,800 units.

Notably, RoboSense has held the top spot globally for robotic 3D LiDAR shipments for several consecutive quarters. The company now leads the industry across five niche markets: lawn-mowing robots, autonomous delivery, humanoid robotics, embodied intelligence, and commercial cleaning robots.
