BYD Thailand Produces Its 100,000th NEV
BYD's Thailand plant produced its 100,000th new energy vehicle on September 21 and held a delivery ceremony attended by its local team, the vehicle's new owner, media representatives and other guests. The milestone vehicle was a BYD ATTO 3, the company's first model introduced in Thailand and a key product in its transition from market entry to localized production.
Thai employees currently account for 95% of the factory's workforce, while approximately 50% of its procurement is sourced locally. Five BYD models have received "Made in Thailand" certification. The company plans to continue expanding local manufacturing, talent development and supply-chain integration as its production volume increases.
Autoliv Opens Wuhan Technology Center
Autoliv officially opened its Wuhan Technology Center on September 22. As the company's second R&D center in China, the facility establishes a dual-center structure with its existing Shanghai operation. Located in Wuhan's Dongxihu District, it covers automotive safety-component development, virtual simulation, testing and validation, and systems integration.
The center currently employs more than 300 people, with the workforce expected to exceed 400. Its opening forms part of Autoliv's broader expansion in China, which also includes a new Wuhu factory scheduled to begin production in 2027, an automotive-electronics joint venture with Hangsheng Electronics, and the second phase of its Shanghai Jiading plant, representing an investment of RMB 350 million.
Bowintec Orders 2,000 FAIRINO Robotic Arms
Bowintec and FAIRINO have signed an order for 2,000 humanoid force-controlled robotic arms. The companies plan to combine FAIRINO's robotic hardware with Bowintec's capabilities in intelligent decision-making, robotics software and industrial applications to develop integrated solutions for embodied AI in factories.
Bowintec's BW10-Lite and BW10 robots already use customized FAIRINO joint modules featuring seven degrees of freedom and joint speeds of up to 180 degrees per second. The BW10-Lite has been validated on an automotive-electronics production line for box handling, palletizing and depalletizing, material transport, and loading and unloading. The partners intend to expand deployment into sorting, quality inspection and industrial patrol applications.
