Huawei-backed MAEXTRO unveils V800 luxury MPV
On June 8, Huawei Executive Director and Chairman of the Consumer BG, Richard Yu, officially previewed the MAEXTRO V800, describing it as a vehicle that combines “class-leading space and luxurious comfort” to redefine ultra-premium MPV travel.
The V800 is the first MPV under the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA)’s MAEXTRO brand and the second production model following the S800. Classified as a full-size seven-seat extended-range MPV, the vehicle measures 5,495 mm in length with a 3,430 mm wheelbase. Its flexible third-row seating system supports folding, reclining, and sliding functions to maximize cabin versatility.
Power comes from a 1.5-liter range-extender system paired with dual electric motors delivering all-wheel drive. The front motor produces 160 kW, while the rear motor generates 230 kW. Equipped with a 63.262 kWh ternary lithium battery pack, the V800 offers up to 276 km of pure-electric range under WLTC conditions.
LUXEED V9 begins first nationwide deliveries as orders surpass 18,000
On June 6, the LUXEED V9, the flagship MPV under the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance(HIMA), officially began its first nationwide deliveries in China. The company also announced that cumulative firm orders had exceeded 18,000 units within 21 days of launch.
More than 80% of customers selected the Ultra trim or above, while the average transaction price reached RMB 500,000, highlighting strong demand in China's premium MPV segment.
Jointly developed by Huawei and Chery, the LUXEED V9 was launched on May 15 with a price range of RMB 389,800 to RMB 519,800. The vehicle measures 5,359 mm in length and features a 3,250 mm wheelbase.
Powered by a 1.5-liter range-extender system, higher-spec variants are equipped with dual-motor all-wheel drive and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in as little as 5.9 seconds. The model also comes standard with rear-wheel steering, enabling a turning radius of just 5.35 meters.
Key highlights include the Harmony ALPS Health Cockpit 3.0, an onboard oxygen-generation system, comprehensive airbag protection, and an advanced intelligent driving suite featuring dual 896-line LiDAR sensors, targeting both business and family users seeking a premium mobility experience.
NIO, GigaDevice forge strategic partnership on automotive chips
EV maker NIO and semiconductor supplier GigaDevice have signed a strategic cooperation agreement aimed at advancing automotive chip innovation and supporting the next generation of intelligent electric vehicles.
The partnership will focus on the joint development of automotive-grade semiconductors and next-generation electronic and electrical architectures. Leveraging its expertise in memory products, microcontrollers (MCUs), and large-scale production, GigaDevice will provide high-performance, high-reliability chip solutions. NIO will contribute vehicle platform development capabilities, system integration expertise, and market insights to help define product requirements, optimize chip performance, and conduct vehicle-level validation.
The collaboration reflects growing efforts across the automotive industry to strengthen semiconductor supply chains and accelerate intelligent vehicle development.
