RoboSense secures new FAW Toyota LiDAR program
RoboSense has landed another major production nomination from FAW Toyota, this time for a new mass-production passenger vehicle program with orders exceeding 500,000 digital LiDAR units. The win follows more than one million units of cumulative orders secured from FAW Toyota models at the end of 2025, further strengthening RoboSense's position in the ADAS LiDAR market.
The company continues to demonstrate strong commercialization momentum. In the first quarter of 2026, RoboSense generated revenue of approximately RMB 459 million, up 39.9% year over year, while total LiDAR shipments surged 204.1% to 330,300 units. Robot-related LiDAR shipments grew even faster, increasing 1,458.8% year over year and accounting for more than 56% of total sales for the first time.
Looking ahead, RoboSense expects profitability to improve as new vehicle launches ramp up in the second half of the year, robotics demand continues to expand, and cost efficiencies from in-house chips and higher capacity utilization begin to materialize. As of March 31, 2026, the company had secured design wins covering 177 vehicle models from 36 automakers and Tier 1 suppliers, with ADAS order backlog exceeding 9 million units.
Momenta EXPANDS AUTONOMOUS DRIVING FOOTPRINT to Wuxi
Momenta has obtained intelligent connected vehicle road testing and demonstration operation permits in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, adding another city to its growing autonomous driving deployment network. The company has already been conducting local testing since January 2026, marking a transition toward broader high-level autonomous driving demonstrations in the city.
The expansion forms part of Momenta's global rollout strategy. The company plans to launch advanced autonomous driving services across multiple new cities and regions this year, focusing on both technology validation and public mobility applications. Earlier this year, Momenta introduced its reinforcement learning-based “R7” world model technology and has already incorporated it into Level 4 autonomous driving operations to enhance performance in complex traffic environments.
Momenta is also strengthening its ecosystem partnerships. The company has established collaborations with mobility platforms including Uber, Grab, Lumo, and Xiangdao Mobility, as well as automakers such as Mercedes-Benz. Its Robotaxi services are currently operating in Shanghai, Suzhou, Munich, and Abu Dhabi, with future expansion planned for additional European markets, Singapore, and Japan.
ZF and XCMG establish agricultural machinery joint venture in China
ZF Group and XCMG Group have signed a joint venture agreement in Friedrichshafen, Germany, to accelerate the development of advanced agricultural machinery technologies for the Chinese market. The new company, ZF (Xuzhou) Machinery Co., Ltd., will be headquartered in the Xuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone in Jiangsu Province.
The partnership combines ZF's global transmission technology expertise with XCMG's manufacturing capabilities and agricultural equipment resources. The joint venture will focus on producing advanced powershift transmission systems tailored to the specific requirements of China's rapidly growing agricultural machinery sector.
ZF Board of Management member Andreas Moser highlighted China's strategic importance to the company, noting that ZF's 45 years of operations in the country provide a strong foundation for expanding localized production of advanced transmission technologies. Meanwhile, XCMG Chairman Yang Dongsheng said China's agricultural machinery industry is entering a new phase characterized by larger platforms, higher automation levels, and growing demand for intelligent technologies.
Beyond serving the Chinese market, the joint venture is expected to support ZF's long-term international growth strategy while helping modernize China's agricultural equipment industry. The partners also plan to jointly develop new components and integrated system solutions to enhance the global competitiveness of next-generation agricultural machinery products.
