Keji: On June 2, Changan NEVO issued an official statement regarding a rear-end collision involving an A07 on the Jiguang Expressway on October 2, 2025. The vehicle involved was a 2024 Changan NEVO A07 equipped with the first-generation IACC (Integrated Adaptive Cruise Control). The hardware lacks lidar, and the system is classified as L2 driver assistance, designed only for flat highway conditions. In visibility-restricted scenarios such as rain, fog, dust, or low light, it may fail to detect obstacles or brake in time. An accident investigation report released by the Ganzhou Emergency Management Bureau on May 21 states that a semi-truck was illegally parked in the fast lane, the road had no lighting, and the driver had engaged IACC before the crash. The driver did not touch the steering wheel for 13 seconds before impact, and neither the driver nor the system applied effective braking. Authorities determined both drivers involved shared direct responsibility. Changan NEVO stated that liability is based on the regulator's final report and urged the public to view online rumors rationally.
