Gasgoo Munich-On October 23, the 14th Automotive and Environment Innovation Forum and the 8th Gasgoo Awards ceremony, themed "China Solutions, Global Value," were held in Shanghai. Wang Xianbin, Vice President of the Gasgoo Automotive Research Institute, delivered a keynote speech on the "2026 China Automotive Industry Innovation Report," outlining the year's top ten industry trends alongside case studies from the Gasgoo Awards.

Chinese solutions are "faster, better, and cheaper," Wang argued, driven at their core by economies of scale. Massive data and rapid iteration, layered over a complete supply chain and an engineer dividend, forge a distinct edge in engineering efficiency. As competition converges on scale, closed-loop systems, cost, and compliance, the logic for going global is pivoting toward supply-chain security and deep localization.
AI is now restructuring the auto industry, he noted, and the "ChatGPT moment" has arrived. Its applications have already permeated cockpits, autonomous driving, manufacturing, and marketing. The intelligent-driving landscape is set to consolidate around a "1+4+2N" structure, entrenching the lead for top players. Meanwhile, cockpit homogenization is fueling cross-sector tech fusion, with premium chips accelerating breakthroughs in cockpit domain controllers and autonomous driving.
Smart chassis, he predicted, are entering the mass-production window for EMB and SBW systems, positioning them as the execution layer for Level 3 and Level 4 autonomous driving. High-efficiency powertrains and energy management remain universal challenges. With automotive and embodied-AI supply chains now roughly 60% to 70% integrated, mobile physical AI could well emerge as the industry's second growth curve.
The global value of Chinese solutions ultimately hinges on localized compliance adaptation, Wang said. The goal is to translate innovative tech, talent dividends, and supply-chain architectures into a scaled user base for customers worldwide. To get there, companies must weave together regulations, data localization, and organizational heft—building a collaborative innovation ecosystem through tech co-creation, systemic division of labor, and reliable delivery. Only then can global adaptability be forged into a durable competitive barrier.
