Gasgoo Munich- Gotion High-tech ("Gotion") and BASF recently signed a strategic memorandum of understanding in Hefei to jointly advance next-generation solid-state battery technologies, according to a post on BASF's WeChat account.

By combining strengths in materials science and battery engineering, the partnership signals a shift toward a more scaled and systematic approach to solid-state battery development for Gotion.
Under the agreement, the two companies will center their collaboration on co-innovation, with joint R&D targeting high-performance materials critical to next-generation solid-state batteries. The scope spans multiple key material systems. Leveraging Gotion’s capabilities in industrializing solid-state battery technologies and BASF’s deep expertise in materials research, the partners aim to co-design batteries and systems while pursuing targeted material development to address the main technical hurdles slowing commercialization.
Beyond research, the partnership will also explore pathways to bring jointly developed technologies to market. By accelerating the global commercialization of innovation outcomes, Gotion and BASF intend to support a broader range of applications, including new energy vehicles and energy storage systems, and to extend the impact of solid-state battery advances across multiple sectors.
