The Times of India - On Sunday, city's visually impaired went for a riding treat as Ahmedabad hosted car rally specially for the visually challenged. More than 100 cars took part in the event to make this unique race a grand success.

Driver skills were judged based on the time, speed and distance (TSD) measurements provided, however, the entire route will be given out in Braille. This creates an exceptional situation where the sighted driver is totally dependent on the visually-impaired navigator to make their way through the course. The 80-km rally included eight marshals.

Also, one navigator will also be provided for online support from the venue for lost drivers. The rally will be flagged off from university ground, near Blind People's Association (BPA). This time around, the rally will be made more exciting with the addition of a 300-m dirt track on the route.
