According to data from the Gasgoo Automotive Research Institute, China's intelligent chassis market for passenger vehicles maintained strong growth during the January–May 2026 period, with key technologies such as air suspension, brake-by-wire, and steer-by-wire continuing to penetrate a broader range of new energy vehicle (NEV) models.

Among these technologies, air suspension has emerged as one of the most representative segments of the intelligent chassis market, driven by sustained demand and expanding adoption. The competitive landscape also highlights the growing strength of domestic suppliers, with market concentration continuing to increase.
During the first five months of 2026, KH Automotive Technologies ranked first with 219,660 units installed, accounting for a 35.2% market share. Top Group followed with 188,869 units (30.3%), while Baolong Automotive secured third place with 157,818 units (25.3%). Together, the top three suppliers accounted for more than 90% of total installations, underscoring both the high level of market concentration and the growing competitiveness of China's intelligent chassis supply chain.
This competitive landscape reflects the rapid progress of China's intelligent chassis supply chain. Driven by the rapid growth of the new energy vehicle (NEV) market, domestic suppliers have strengthened their competitiveness through strong engineering capabilities, fast response, and large-scale production, gradually establishing an edge over global competitors in key chassis technologies.
At the same time, the intelligent chassis is evolving from standalone component optimization to system-level integration. As intelligent driving, centralized computing platforms, and software-defined vehicles continue to advance, chassis systems are increasingly expected to deliver greater software capability, system integration, and cross-domain coordination.
Competition is also shifting. For brake-by-wire systems, response speed, control precision, functional safety, and redundancy have become key differentiators. In steer-by-wire, reliability and compatibility with intelligent driving systems are critical, while in air suspension and CDC systems, vehicle posture control, response performance, and cost optimization are the primary focus.
Looking ahead, the intelligent chassis will play an increasingly important role in vehicle motion control, enabling closer integration with intelligent driving systems to improve safety, handling, and ride comfort.
