Shanghai August 10 (Gasgoo.com) Jaguar Land Rover Auto Trade (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is recalling 29 vehicles in China over possible engine failure, according to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).

The recall, which has started on August 6, affects 14 imported 2010/2011 Jaguar XF cars produced between October 22, 2008 and August 12, 2009, and 15 imported Jaguar XK cars produced between April 9, 2008 and May 24, 2010. Both models are equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 gasoline engine.

The recall follows concerns that certain software problems may cause the low-pressure electric fuel pump does not work properly, and thus result in an oil shortage. The engine may stall without warning in this case, along with malfunction of the power steering and the brake booster, affecting driving safety.

Jaguar Land Rover (Shanghai) has started on August 6 to inform involved car owners of the recall. The owners will need to have the software upgraded in the company's service centers nationwide to fix the problem.

The owners can also contact Jaguar Land Rover Auto Trade (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. on hotlines at 800-820-8955 or 400-820-8955 or call the AQSIQ at 010-59796616 or 65537365 for more information.
