MagicLab Establishes National Headquarters in Wuxi

Edited by Aya From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich- MagicLab is planting its national flag in Wuxi. The company recently announced plans to establish its headquarters in the city's Liangxi Sci-Tech City, moving in tandem with the launch of a new industrial fund. Valued at 10 billion yuan, the Liangxi Sky Workshop Smart Lead Industry Fund will channel capital into cutting-edge sectors such as embodied intelligence, AI, aerospace information, and the low-altitude economy. The goal is to leverage local financing as a magnet, systematically drawing hard-tech resources into Wuxi.

As the strategic partner for intelligent robots at the 2026 CCTV Spring Festival Gala, MagicLab stands out as one of the few players capable of delivering both a diverse robot matrix and engineering-level mass production. The company is committed to full-stack in-house R&D, with self-developed core components—including dexterous hands and joint modules—now accounting for over 90% of its parts. At a recent global partner conference, the company revealed its self-developed joint modules achieve a peak torque of 525 N·m, placing performance specs in the industry's top tier. On the product front, 2025 has seen a flurry of releases: the MagicBot Gen1 humanoid, the high-dynamic bipedal MagicBot Z1, the wheeled quadruped MagicDog W, and the industrial quadruped MagicDog Y1. This lineup spans the spectrum from R&D demonstrations to actual industrial and commercial deployment. International growth is accelerating, too. Since expanding overseas in 2025, the company's international business has surged to claim over 30% of total revenue, peaking at 60% in a single month.

Liangxi District forms the core of downtown Wuxi. In recent years, it has built a robust ecosystem integrating modern manufacturing with the digital economy, focusing on high-end equipment, integrated circuits, and AI. With the new headquarters, the local government is offering more than just location and supply chain support; it is deploying the Liangxi Sky Workshop Smart Lead Fund as a financial tool to localize the "R&D—Scenario—Mass Production" loop. Gu Shitao, co-founder of MagicLab, said the decision to settle in Liangxi aligns with the district's "investment-led attraction" strategy. The goal is to harness capital and ecosystem resources to accelerate embodied intelligence from a technological breakthrough into a phase of large-scale commercialization.

Competition in the embodied intelligence sector is shifting focus. It is no longer just about isolated technical specs; it is now a comprehensive contest of productization capability, ecosystem efficiency, and depth of industrial collaboration. Leveraging Wuxi's manufacturing base and the strategic advantages of the Yangtze River Delta, MagicLab plans to position its Liangxi headquarters as a critical integration hub for core components, system design, and application scenarios. This partnership offers a potential blueprint for the domestic industry, demonstrating how embodied intelligence can bridge the gap from R&D validation to large-scale output by fusing industrial capital with innovation resources.
