Gasgoo.com (Shanghai October 20) - The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Commerce and National Development and Reform Commission have released the newly revised list of vehicles eligible for low emission subsidies, auto.163.com reported today. The list, which is now in its seventh incarnation, has been the focus of intense media attention, as it would see the number of vehicles covered by subsidies drastically reduced to only 49.
Of the 49 vehicles listed, 27 are made by joint ventures: Shanghai VW (Passat, Lavida, Skoda Octavia, Skoda Superb), Shanghai GM (Chevrolet Aveo and Sail), FAW-VW (Magotan, Sagitar, New Bora, Golf) and Dongfeng Nissan (Sunny and Tiida Qida). The remaining 22 come from domestic manufacturers, including Chery, JAC, BYD, Changan, Haima, Geely and Soueast.
Manufacturers of vehicles listed must have begun large-scale production before December of this year and are not permitted to halt production within the first six months following the announcement.
