The Straits Times - Kah Motor, the exclusive distributors of Honda cars in Singapore, has issued a statement to inform owners of Honda cars affected by Monday's global recall.

It said once the parts arrive, the company will contact owners to bring their cars in for replacement of the parts. This does not include cars imported by parallel importers.

Affected are some 6,119 units of the 2005 to 2008 Honda Jazz models and 1,657 units of the 2006 to 2008 Honda City models.

Japan's Honda Motor is recalling 936,000 cars worldwide, mostly its popular Fit subcompact, called Jazz overseas, due to defective power window switches.
