The planning and policy director of the Shanghai New-Energy Car Promotion Office, Liu Jianhua, revealed Thursday that the city is going to add 20,000 yuan ($2946) in subsidies to private hybrid car buyers and 40,000 to 50,000 yuan to private all-electric car consumers.
According to Liu, the subsidy policy has already been submitted to the authorities, and the implementation time is expected to be in this year.
Shanghai plans to form an annual production capacity of 100,000 new-energy vehicles, including 60,000 passenger car vehicles (PCVs), and to drive the annual production value to 30 billion yuan, with the PCV's annual production value over 20 billion yuan.
