Shanghai, November 26 (Gasgoo.com) The ongoing 2009 Guangzhou auto show (on November 23 to 30) in south China's Guangdong province is bringing new-energy cars closer to customers, CCTV.com reported this week.
Alternative-energy vehicles, particularly electric cars, are becoming a preferred option for the future auto industry and driving experience due to the price hike and limited supply of fuel.

Global and domestic automakers are showcasing their latest green products at the event. Japanese company Nissan Motor, for example, is displaying its electric model, the Nuvu. China's BYD Auto has brought forth the dual-mode F6DM and e6 electric cars.

Experts at the auto show say that government support is needed for the commercialization of new-energy vehicles in China. Subsidies, and other stimulus measures, should be used to encourage investment in related facilities and auto parts supply.
As the electric vehicle (EV) is becoming the auto industry's future trend for energy efficiency and environmental protection, China top 10 carmakers, including SAIC and FAW, have decided to jointly lay out the country's EV industry standards.
