Gasgoo.com (Shanghai February 14) - A public report issued today by Ningxia Autonomous Region's Department of Finance listing government vehicles to be bought caught the attention of many in across industry. According to the report, of the 71 vehicles expected to be bought, only one is a Chinese own brand. The decision goes against legislation passed by the central government which states that, when departments replace their fleet of official vehicles, the percentage of own brand vehicles must be at least 50 percent.
According to insiders in the industry, although the legislation was passed two years ago, the number of own brand cars serving as government vehicles has not markedly increased. They pointed out that the percentage of Chery automobiles bought by the government only increased 0.4 percent after the policy was implemented.
The report also mentioned that the department was planning to buy 25 Audi A6 luxury cars (as pictured).
