Gasgoo Munich- NIO's FIREFLY brand launched the first model in its halo design series on July 20, adding a more personalized variant to its compact electric vehicle lineup.

Named "Habitat" in Chinese, the new edition adopts "inner glow" as its central design theme. Rather than introducing a different body or powertrain, FIREFLY has used coordinated colors, materials and lighting details to give the vehicle a more distinctive visual identity.
Four shades of green are applied across different parts of the exterior and cabin. A bright, FIREFLY-inspired green serves as a contrasting accent, while a deeper Tranquil Green forms the main exterior color.
The body finish uses a seven-layer metallic paint process topped with ProGloss clearcoat, allowing its appearance to shift subtly under different lighting conditions. Inside, a softer green covers areas including the seats, while pale green highlights appear on the painted metallic trim.

Exterior changes are deliberately restrained. The illuminated FIREFLY emblem at the front glows in the brighter accent color, accompanied by new two-tone alloy wheels with a black lacquered finish and exposed metallic surfaces.
A gloss-black lower body kit extends around the vehicle, providing contrast with the green paint without substantially altering the original model's silhouette.
FIREFLY says the cabin incorporates 25 changes to its colors, materials and surface treatments. The wraparound seats combine blended fabric across the shoulder area with solvent-free, soft-touch synthetic leather. Seat ventilation and a back-relaxation function remain available.
The brighter green accent reappears on the steering-wheel emblem and the cupholder assembly within the front center console, creating a consistent design thread between the exterior and cabin.

The FIREFLY halo "Habitat" edition is priced from RMB 133,300. Customers choosing NIO's Battery-as-a-Service program can purchase the vehicle without the battery from 93,300 yuan and pay a monthly battery subscription fee of 399 yuan.
Sales began immediately following the launch. The pricing places the model above the standard FIREFLY and reflects its positioning as a design-focused special edition rather than a major technical upgrade.
