Reuters - Nissan Motor Co (7201.T) expects its Mexican production to rise 20 percent this year from 2010 in what may be a record year for the Japanese automaker in the country.

Nissan, the second-biggest auto maker in Mexico after General Motors (GM.N), produced 506,494 autos last year.

"It will be an all-time record for Nissan in Mexico ... there are countries in Latin America that are growing very strongly like Brazil," Nissan Mexico Chief Executive Jose Munoz said at an event on Friday in the industrial capital of the State of Mexico.

Japan's No. 2 automaker said this week that it expects a better-than-expected 14.4 percent fall in annual operating profit in 2011-12, defying an earthquake-induced setback in the past few months and projecting another year of record sales.
