Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 23) - Porsche has decided to recall 72 Panamera Turbo S sport cars in China, Xinhua reported today, citing an announcement made by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. The recall targets imported 2011 and 2012 year models manufactured between April 2011 and May of this year.

The blades in the turbochargers of the Panameras (pictured) in question are suspected to be defective, which may cause the engine to be underpowered. In extreme cases, engine fuel leakages may occur.

Porsche will replace the turbochargers of recalled vehicles free of charge. Any vehicles in inventory will also be inspected and repaired before being sold on the market. Porsche's Chinese service center will contact owner of affected vehicles in order to schedule appointments for repair work.

Although the recall only affects the Panamera Turbo S in China, other Porsche models, including the Cayenne Turbo and Panamera Turbo, are being recalled in other countries.
