Auto firms worried over Egypt crisis; Exports hit

The Economic Times (New Dehli) - The political crisis in Egypt has raised worries for the Indian auto companies. Egypt, one of the largest market in West Asia for Indian automakers, has been hit as the full-blown political crisis has dried the market temporarily for Maruti, Hyundai Motor, Bajaj Auto and other major players, affecting their export orders. Maruti Suzuki has said that its exports to Egypt, which accounts for 3% of its overseas sales, would be directly impacted by the political unrest.

Over 300000 applicants for Beijing's second license plate lottery

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai February 10) - The Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport said that it had received 306,865 applications from private citizens for the city's second license plate lottery held this February, the Beijing Times reported yesterday. Additionally, over 7,100 companies sent out a total of 13,386 applications for commercial vehicle allocation.
