Gasgoo Munich- Volkswagen Anhui Digital Sales Service Co., Ltd. announced on May 28 that Liu Zhanshu, its current chief operating officer, will become chief executive officer effective July 1, 2026.
The appointment is part of the company's long-term talent pipeline strategy, designed to bolster organizational stability and drive sustainable business growth, according to the statement.

Liu holds a bachelor's degree from the China Youth University of Political Studies, an MBA from Tsinghua University, and has completed the Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School. With nearly 20 years in the automotive industry—including about a decade within the Volkswagen Group—he has held key positions at Audi and FAW-Volkswagen. He joined Volkswagen Anhui Digital Sales Service as COO in November 2025, overseeing overall operations and strategic coordination.

Liu will serve as both CEO and COO following the appointment. Stefan Timmermann, the current chief executive, is set to conclude his tenure in China as planned. During his term, he successfully drove the initial launch and market introduction of the ID.UNYX lineup, laying a crucial foundation for the business.
