Gasgoo.com (Shanghai May 18) - Porsche Motors' Chinese branch has sent a recall report to the national Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) via its representative ordering the recall of models from its 997 line. According to the report, 27 of the vehicles recalled are in the mainland, with production dates between 2007 and 2011.
During a strict inspection of the production lines used to make the vehicles, Porsche discovered that the hinges on the wheels axles were not fixed tightly enough. Under extreme situations this fault may cause wear to internal parts, interfering with normal driving operation and potentially leading to safety risks.
Porsche will replace the bolts attaching the axles free of charge, as well as sending out new safety manuals to all affected owners. All vehicles currently in inventory will also be repaired before being sold.
