Gasgoo.com (Shanghai October 25) - Reactions to the newly-released seventh revision of the list for vehicles eligible for energy-saving subsidies appear to be muted. The new list, which saw the number of vehicles eligible for the 3,000 yuan ($470) reduced to only 49, took effect at the beginning of this month. Around 90 percent of models previously eligible were not included in the new list.

In a report appearing in the Guangzhou Daily, a majority of dealers said they were not changing prices in response to the new policies. They also said that the 3,000 yuan price difference was not enough to force a substantial shift on the purchasing threshold for most models. For the most part, the market for the vehicles in question has been stable.

There have also been those within the industry who believe the government may release an extended list in the future.

The list was jointly released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Commerce and National Development and Reform Commission. Of the 49 vehicles listed, 27 come from joint ventures, while the remaining 22 are from domestic Chinese manufacturers.
