Saying Goodbye to "Unregulated Growth," Robot Branch Issues Proposal

Edited by Greg From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich- The Robot Branch of the China Machinery Industry Federation recently issued a proposal titled "Jointly Practicing Technology for Good and Promoting the Healthy Development of the Robotics Industry." Noting the buzz surrounding recent launches of full-size super-bionic humanoid robots, the body called on the entire sector to adopt new standards aimed at regulating applications and fostering healthy growth:

First, uphold ethical baselines and practice technology for good. The industry must embrace this philosophy, strictly observe tech ethics, and strengthen personal privacy protections. By standardizing innovative applications, companies can help maintain a clean and healthy environment for development.

Second, unite to drive industrial progress. The sector should collaborate with an open attitude toward emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, pushing for a deep integration of industrial and technological innovation to boost core competitiveness. The initiative concludes with a call for unity, integrity, and compliance—urging the industry to work together toward high-quality development.

The initiative arrives at a critical moment.

On June 30, UBTECH hosted its 2026 global launch in Shenzhen, unveiling the "Uworld U1" series of full-size, super-bionic humanoid robots. The lineup includes three versions: the half-body U1 Lite at 119,800 yuan; the high-spec, full-body U1 Pro at 169,800 yuan; and the high-dynamic, full-body U1 Ultra, priced at 990,000 yuan for the male model and 880,000 yuan for the female model.

On the technical front, the U1 series boasts 88 degrees of freedom and a unique dual-pivot bionic cervical spine, covering 90% of basic human movements. It is equipped with an emotional large language model designed for long-term companionship, capable of recognizing more than 20 fine-grained emotions with over 90% accuracy. Regarding data security, the product uses a local-first processing mechanism, allowing users to manage their own data.

According to official data from UBTECH, the U1 series has garnered over 13,361 orders across all online and offline channels since pre-sales began on JD.com in early June.

Notably, UBTECH responded officially the very night the initiative was released. The company expressed full agreement with and commitment to the proposal's core tenets—technology for good, integrity in innovation, and industry unity. It pledged to implement compliance and development standards across the entire industrial chain, leveraging its position as a leading enterprise to guide the sector toward standardization.

Specifically, UBTECH will integrate these requirements throughout the entire lifecycle—from product R&D, industrial design, and manufacturing to marketing, sales, and application scenarios. The company aims to systematically address key areas including tech ethics, privacy security, quality control, technical breakthroughs, scenario implementation, and industry synergy.
