Seeds | Five Funding Rounds in Six Months: Who is Delta Intelligence?

Edited by Greg From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich-Delta Intelligence has recently closed a Seed+ round, an Angel round, and an Angel+ round in quick succession.

The Seed+ round was backed by E-Horizons and Fosun RZ Capital. The Angel round was co-led by China Renaissance Capital, Huagai Capital, and Lenovo Capital. Existing shareholders E-Horizons and Fosun RZ Capital significantly increased their stakes. The Angel+ round secured support from financial institutions including Zhuhai Sci-Tech Industry Group, Haiwang Capital, and Plum Ventures. It saw deep participation from semiconductor player Jiaoyuan Assets and an automotive industry player. China Renaissance Capital also doubled down.

Delta Intelligence has secured five funding rounds in less than six months since its inception. This includes two earlier rounds involving the Beijing General Artificial Intelligence Institute, Leju Intelligence, Zhiyuan Innovation, Xinghaitu, and Hillhouse Capital.

Founded in January 2026, the company was incubated by the Beijing General Artificial Intelligence Institute. It boasts a closed-loop capability spanning from foundational models and system architecture to final delivery.

Founder and CEO Ma Xiaojian previously worked at Google Robotics and NVIDIA Research. He focused on long-term frontier research in large-scale machine learning and foundational models for embodied intelligence.

Co-founder Liu Hangxin is currently an assistant professor at Peking University. He was deeply involved in U.S. robotics projects funded by DARPA, ONR, and NSF. Since returning to China, he led the delivery of multiple humanoid robot applications at BIGAI. These applications covered industrial and specialized scenarios.

Another co-founder and Chief Scientist, Huang Siyuan, serves as Director of the Embodied Robotics Center at the Beijing General Artificial Intelligence Institute. He previously conducted frontier research at DeepMind and Meta.

At its core, Delta Intelligence focuses on developing native foundational models for humanoid robots. Centered around an autonomous 3D world engine, the company aims to evolve humanoid robots from "scattered capabilities" to "whole-body coordination." It ultimately aims to achieve universal whole-body manipulation.

The company's foundational model treats the humanoid robot's entire body as the modeling subject. Built around "loco-manipulation," it creates a closed loop spanning 3D scene understanding, task reasoning, whole-body control, and force-position interaction. This enables robots to understand tasks while coordinating their bodies to execute them.

Delta Intelligence is currently iterating on the core architecture of its humanoid robot foundation model. It has completed cross-body adaptation and performance verification on various humanoid robot platforms. These include platforms from Unitree, Zhiyuan, and Leju.

In industrial manufacturing and energy sectors, the Delta team has validated real-world tasks. These include production line collaboration for FAW Hongqi, substation inspections for China Southern Power Grid, and SMT tray sorting. The company has made phased progress in task success rates and continuous operation duration. It also improved cross-scenario generalization capabilities.

Ultimately, Delta Intelligence aims to provide migratable and generalizable foundational models across different humanoid robot platforms. Through joint verification with hardware manufacturers, the company seeks to shorten the path from model training to real-world deployment.
