Last week, the nation's cabinet, State Council, issued the notice of further intensifying the efforts to ensure achievement of the emissions reduction target under China's "11th Five-Year Plan", which pointed out that China would promote the fuel-efficient vehicles, energy-saving motors and other products in a full scale to realize the above target.
Additionally, it will continually dedicate to the trial expansion of the new energy vehicles, and specific rules for the subsidies' implementation will be announced by the end of May.
Reportedly, the passenger and light commercial hybrid vehicles for public services (at least 5% fuel-efficiency more than the traditional vehicles) will have a subsidy of 4,000 yuan ($586) at least and of 50,000 yuan at most. The all-electric passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles will have a subsidiary of 60,000 yuan.
Accordingly, the fuel-cell passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles will have a maximum subsidy of 250,000 yuan. In terms of the city buses of over 10 meters long, the hybrid vehicles (at least 10% fuel-efficiency more than the traditional vehicles) will have a minimum subsidy of 50,000 yuan and a maximum subsidy of 420,000 yuan, and correspondingly, the all-electric vehicles 500,000 yuan, the fuel cell passenger vehicles 600,000 yuan at most.
Nevertheless, whether or not the subsidies standards will be announced by the end of this month, many manufacturers are still on the fence.
