Gasgoo Munich-As smart vehicle technology advances rapidly, safety remains a non-negotiable imperative—and one of the industry's most complex challenges.
Gasgoo has learned that Novosense Microelectronics officially launched its NSI6911F series of isolated gate driver chips on April 21. It is the first domestic product of its kind built entirely on a local supply chain, certified by TÜV Rheinland, and meeting the ISO 26262 ASIL D—the highest functional safety level. This marks a significant breakthrough for Chinese automotive chips in critical safety applications.

Designed for high-voltage applications like main-drive inverters, onboard chargers, and DC-DC converters in new energy vehicles, the NSI6911F series boasts 19A of peak drive capability and ±150kV/μs of common-mode transient immunity (CMTI). This ensures stable driving for SiC and IGBT power devices operating in high-frequency, high-dv/dt environments.
Notably, the series integrates a 12-bit high-precision isolated ADC rated at ASIL B, enabling local sampling and isolated transmission of critical voltage and current signals even in high-dv/dt conditions. Compared to traditional discrete solutions, this significantly cuts the number of external components, reducing both system complexity and BOM costs. Housed in an SSOW32 package, the device offers pin-to-pin and BOM-to-BOM compatibility with competing products, allowing customers to drop it into existing designs without altering the PCB layout.
On the supply chain front, the NSI6911F series is built on a fully domestic ecosystem spanning from wafer fabrication to packaging and testing.
NoveSense has held TÜV Rheinland's ISO 26262 functional safety management system certification since 2021 and upgraded to the "Defined–Practiced" level in 2025. The company has established a comprehensive functional safety capability framework covering everything from management systems to engineering practices.
As new energy vehicles shift rapidly toward 800V high-voltage platforms, the demand for higher functional safety standards in gate drivers is intensifying. New regulations like GB/T 43254-2023 explicitly mandate that electric drive systems achieve ASIL D ratings in critical scenarios, such as preventing unintended torque. The launch of the NSI6911F series provides OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers with a foundational chip solution to meet safety compliance targets and scale up production.
