Beijing (Gasgoo)- On May 31st, long-range image-grade LiDAR supplier Innovusion announced its strategic partnership with autonomous driving developer TuSimple.
The two companies will cooperate under driverless scenarios, including China’s ports, middle-mile logistics, and urban freight transportation. By integrating Innovusion’s auto-grade high-performance LiDARs and perception algorithm with TuSimple’s autonomous driving commercial vehicles, the duo aims to forge a safe and efficient autonomous driving operation ecosystem. Both parties will work to accelerate the development, volume production, and mass application of China’s fully autonomous technology.

Leveraging autonomous cargo transportation network as a foundation, TuSimple has created an integrated advanced ecosystem of autonomous driving software and hardware. In December 2021, the company completed the world’s first driverless open road test for heavy-duty trucks, without safety driver onboard or human intervention. With its outstanding performance in transportation, autonomous heavy-duty trucks require highly reliable and stable perceptual sensors to support its daily averaged 20+ hours of operation.
As one of the first suppliers to realize volume production for high-performance LiDARs worldwide, Innovusion’s ultra-long-range image-grade LiDAR, Falcon, features industry-leading high-precision long-range detection capability, with an ROI resolution of 0.06°*0.06° and a maximum range of 500m.
Per the procurement order, the Falcon will serve as a dominant radar on TuSimple’s heavy-duty trucks.
