UK: Smoking inside the car to be banned soon

FrenchTribune - With the pursuit of saving kids from the hazards of second hand smoke a ban over the smoking inside car has been imposed. Recently, the British Medical Association’s Board of Science highlighted the harmful effects of smoking inside car upon kids. The revelation made by the Board stirred debate all over the world and led to ban on smoking inside car with kids.

Many people are unaware the non-smokers are exposed to the toxic smoke in an enclosed area severely than in an open area. During a survey by the Welsh Health it was found that 48% f the smokers smoke while driving.

In the past few years, second hand smoke has become one of the major health concerns. In the UK almost every year, about 23 kids and 4,000 adults succumb to death because of second hand smoke. Moreover, many have been affected with life threatening disease like lung diseases and heart diseases due to extreme exposure to second hand smoke.

Smokers are unaware of the fact that tobacco smoke emits about 4,000 chemicals which could be hazardous for one’s health. Besides, smokers while driving also put their own health in trouble. There have been certain incidents when smoking while driving has been linked to accidents.

Smoking has not been directly linked to accidents. However, it has been recommended by the Driving Standards Authority that one should not smoke while driving has smoke can distract one from the road. And thus could lead to accidents.

The Osmania University Health Sciences Center has revealed that putting a ban on smoke could help in saving not only money but also lives. Smoking is hazardous for smoker and as well for non smokers. Therefore one should quit smoking so that its global affect could be reduced.
