Shanghai, May 25 (Gasgoo.com) China's quality regulator said today that Volkswagen Import Co., a unit of Volkswagen Group China, will recall 30 imported Lamborghini vehicles in the country from May 31 to fix a problem with the fuel tank, Xinhua News reported.

The recall affects Lamborghini's Murcielago Coupe and Murcielago Roadster models produced between June 13, 2006 and April 14, 2008, said a statement on the website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ).

The faulty fuel tank may leak in some extreme cases and pose a threat to passengers, the statement said. The super-car company will check and replace the defective oil tanks for free. Owners can contact Lamborghini on a hotline number 010-65313579.

Italian supercar maker Lamborghini, founded in 1963 by Ferruccio Lamborghini, is now a unit of Volkswagen's luxury Audi brand. Lamborghini expects to sell 100 cars in China this year, up 25% from its China sales in 2009.

Lamborghini opened two more Chinese dealerships last month, one in southern city of Shenzhen and the other in southeastern city of Xiamen, bringing the number of the super-luxury brand's China outlets to eight.
