VW sells 1.3m vehicles in China in first half of 2012

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 25) - Volkswagen sold a total of 1.3 million vehicles in China from January to June, the Beijing Evening News reported today. The figure is 17.5 percent higher than the 1.11 million units it sold in the country in the first half of 2011.

VW sold a total of 4.45 million vehicles worldwide in the first six months of the year, equivalent to year-on-year growth of 8.9 percent. 1.48 million of those sales were made in the Asia-Pacific region, which showed above average growth of 17.6 percent. The Wolfsburg-based manufacturer sold 798,500 vehicles globally in June alone.
