The partnership reflects a shared strategy to combine global engineering expertise with localized product development, delivering solutions specifically tailored to the needs of China's rapidly evolving agricultural equipment sector.

Under the agreement, the two companies will establish ZF (Xuzhou) Machinery Co., Ltd., headquartered in the Xuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone in Jiangsu Province.

The new venture represents a significant expansion of the strategic relationship between the two groups and is expected to serve as a platform for accelerating technology development in agricultural equipment, one of China's most important industrial modernization priorities.

China remains one of the world's fastest-growing markets for agricultural machinery, driven by increasing mechanization, labor shortages in rural areas, and the push toward higher-efficiency farming operations.

The joint venture will focus on manufacturing advanced powershift transmission systems for agricultural equipment, combining ZF's global technology expertise with solutions tailored specifically to local operating conditions and customer requirements. The objective is to bridge international engineering standards with the unique demands of the Chinese market.

Commenting on the agreement, Andreas Moser, a member of ZF's Board of Management, highlighted the strategic importance of China to ZF's long-term growth plans.

He noted that ZF's four-and-a-half decades of operations in China reflect both its long-standing commitment to the market and its investment in local innovation. The new venture, he said, will expand localized production of advanced powershift transmission technologies and support the development of the next generation of high-performance agricultural machinery.

Yang Dongsheng, XCMG Group's chairman, said China's agricultural machinery industry is entering a period of profound transformation, characterized by larger equipment platforms, higher levels of automation, and increasing demand for intelligent technologies.

According to Yang, powershift transmission technology for tractors and other agricultural equipment is approaching a critical growth phase. By combining XCMG's manufacturing capabilities and industry resources with ZF's expertise in transmission systems, the two companies aim to develop globally competitive solutions for the high-end agricultural machinery market and strengthen China's domestic agricultural equipment industry.

Beyond serving the Chinese market, the joint venture is expected to broaden ZF's industrial technology business portfolio and support its long-term international growth strategy.

Looking ahead, the partners plan to jointly develop new components and integrated system solutions for agricultural machinery. By combining localized manufacturing with advanced drivetrain technologies, the venture aims not only to support the modernization of China's agricultural sector but also to enhance the global competitiveness of products developed through the partnership.
