Baidu Apollo shows latest upgrades at Auto Shanghai 2021
Beijing (Gasgoo)- As an independent exhibitor at Auto Shanghai 2021, Baidu Apollo showcased its latest developments, including significant upgrades of its intelligent driving and cloud solutions.
The company’s intelligent driving solutions includes its leading navigation pilot product ANP, namely Apollo Navigation Pilot, and its mass-produced Apollo Valet Parking solution, making it easier to enjoy autonomous driving in real complex urban scenarios.

Adopting a vision-based system, ANP shares the same technology architechture as Apollo L4 autonomous driving and boasts such advantages as lower cost, production readiness and self-learning capabilities. ANP has been mounted on the Weltmeister W6, which hit the market on April 16.
According to Baidu’s plan, the ANP solution will be brought to 20 cities this year, and 100 cities by 2023. In the second half of 2021, every month will see at least one model equipped with Apollo system to hit the market.

Zhenyu Li, Senior Corporate Vice President of Baidu and General Manager of Intelligent Driving Group (IDG), announced at the auto show that L4 autonomous driving system from Baidu Apollo has completed over 10 million kilometers of road testing and currently offers autonomous driving experience under real complex urban scenarios in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

As to cloud solutions, Baidu offers cloud solutions for autonomous vehicles, big data and vehicle security. The search engine giant said that its cloud solutions can shorten the development cycle of autonomous driving from 7 years to 6 months to help automakers strengthen its competitiveness in intelligent mobility segment. At the show, Apollo also announced a strategic collaboration with Chery Automobile in intelligent cloud to provide much safer intelligent vehicle services for Chery users.
With a history of 4 years, Baidu Apollo will continue to step up its investment in autonomous driving and intelligent applications on vehicles. This year, it plans to expand its team with 90% of newly added members committed to technology development, which will accelerate the scale deployment of Apollo GO, the tech giant’s Robotaxi business and its intelligent solutions to cater for diverse customer needs.
