Geely sedans to sell in Turkey in October
Shanghai, September 8 (Gasgoo.com) China's privately owned carmaker Geely Auto will see its first batch of 500 sedans go on sale in Turkey in October, said xinhuanet.com today citing a Geely dealer in the country.
The Turkish dealer under Anadolu Group Co, one of the famous companies in Turkey, said that his company has opened 20 Geely 4S stores nationwide and has built an extensive after-sales service network. The Chinese-made Geely cars are of high quality and low price and have huge market potentials in Turkey. The sales of Geely cars, priced at 16,000 New Lira ($12,800) or more, are expected to reach 5,000 units in Turkey in 2009.
Geely Auto is the second independent Chinese carmaker after Chery Auto to sell vehicles in the Turkish market. The Geely sedans to be sold in Thurkey later this year are the low-emission KingKong and Freedom Cruiser models.
Anadolu Group's dealer of Geely cars, also the Turkish agent of Isuzu, Kia, LAD and the Korean LS tractor, has obtained the power of attorney of Geely Auto, and has gotten its government's licenses for selling Geely vehicles and providing their after-sales services.
Another homegrown Chinese automaker Chery already entered the Turkish market last year with Mermerler Group, selling the brand QQ-car for 12,000 New Lira.
