Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar recalling faulty cars in China
Shanghai, September 19 (Gasgoo.com) Mercedes-Benz China started to recall some SL and S series vehicles as of today because of faulty Active Body Control (ABC) that may upset the balance of the front suspension, China's vehicle regulatory body said today.
The recall involves 430 Benz SL and S series vehicles manufactured between May 31, 2006 and November 30, 2006, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China.
The unbalance is caused by an error of sensors, which may incorrectly measure the body acceleration and get control of only one side of the suspension.
Also from today Jaguar announced to recall 840 XFs built between October 22, 2007 and May 22, 2008. The vehicles have a problem with the assembly of their rear safety belts. During an accident the belts may fail to restrain passengers properly.
