Shanghai, September 24 (Gasgoo.com) Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co., Ltd. (DPCA) will soon complete construction of Platform 3 in its second facility, which is expected to make new Peugeot and Citroen models, including Peugeot 407 and 607, said xinhuanet.com today, citing a top executive of the joint venture.

Tang Teng, deputy general manager of DPCA, recently told reporters that most of the vehicle models to be made by the company will come from the French carmaker PSA Peugeot Citroen. The second plant of DPCA will make Peugeot 407 and 607 models and other mid- to high-end vehicles to meet the rising demands for different cars in China's auto market.

The DPCA, a 50:50 joint venture between Dongfeng Motor and the PSA Group, has its systematic plan to introduce new car models for local production. PSA Group has set up its China R&D Center in Shanghai and in the not too distant future, customers will see Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen vehicles in every segment of the Chinese auto market.

The first Peugeot model to be produced by Platform 3 in joint venture's second plant may be a larger and high-end Peugeot 407. The new Peugeot model will go on sale in China next year. Imported Peugeot 407 and Peugeot 607 models have been sold in the Chinese market for years.
