Scirocco Sports Coupe
Shanghai, September 26 (Gasgoo.com) German manufacturer Volkswagen (VW) will bring its Sports Coupe "Scirocco" to the Guangzhou Auto Show in late November and will announce its official introduction of the model in China at the show, Beijing Times said yesterday.
The Scirocco is expected to come to China by import earlier than the six-generation Golf which shares the same platform with Scirocco. The production edition of Scirocco, which was shown at the 2008 Geneva Auto Show, inherits the original design of its concept Iroc first displayed at the 2006 Paris Auto Show.
The latest 2008 Scirocco will receive the option of TDI diesel engines and TSI petrol engines which generate 122 hp and 200 hp respectively. Advanced technologies such as the Adaptive Chassis Control also included in the new Scirocco will help provide refined driving performance.
The Sports Coupe Scirocco went on sale in Europe in August 2008, priced at 27490 euro (291,600 yuan) for the 120hp/90kw 1.4L TSI entry level version. Though the European version offers standard six-speed manual transmission, customers can also choose between a DSG double-clutch 6-speed or 7-speed transmission. The diesel version will be rolled out by the beginning of 2009.
