Shanghai, October 14 (Gasgoo.com) Subaru is recalling 2,608 Tribeca SUV cars to fix potential problems with the tie rod as of today, China's quality supervision body said on Monday.

The affected SUVs were produced by the Japanese automaker between June 3, 2005, and July 28, 2008, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said.

Some vehicles may have the tie rod at the rear suspension improperly assembled or even get cracked, which may cause malfunction of the vehicles," GAQSIQ said in its recall summary of the problem.

It did not say whether any accidents or personal injuries were linked with the defect but the automaker will start to notify related consumers and perform free repairs on their cars.
