Shanghai, October 15 (Gasgoo.com) The 2009 Maserati Quattroporte, which made its debut at the Paris Motor Show this month, has gone on sale in Beijing, Chinese media reported today.

Entry level models will be sold for 2.14 million yuan (US$313,000), with real prices higher than suggested given the sales tax hike, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.

The 2009 Maserati Quattroporte comes in two new versions dubbed the Quattroporte and Quattroporte S. The first has an 8-cylinder 4.2 litre engine and represents the entry level into the Quattroporte world, while the Quattroporte S adopts the new 430 Hp 4.7-litre V8. Both versions of the Quattroporte are equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Fiat owns both Maserati and Ferrari. Ferrari took over managerial control of Maserati in 1997, and the new Quattroporte is the first vehicle engineered by the Ferrari-Maserati partnership.

Ferrari sales in China rose 25 percent to 200 cars in the first nine months, Chief Executive Officer Amadero Felisa said in an interview at the Paris Motor Show.
