Shanghai, October 27 (Gasgoo.com) Nissan Motor Co is getting ready to export 500 Chinese-made Livina minivans and 400 Bluebird Sylphy cars to Egypt earlier next month, Chinese newspaper the Economic Observer reported Sunday.

"Exporting cars from China is an important part of Nissan's global strategy," Nissan China confirmed. "The future export, however, will be decided by their sales performance and local market changes."

The cars to be exported are built by Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFL PV), a 50:50 joint venture between Nissan Motor Co and Dongfeng Motor Corp in China, which makes a number of other models including the Chinese-market version of Nissan Europe's smash-hit Qashqai crossover and the Tiida compact sold in the U.S. as the Mexican-built Versa.

DFL PV officially announced the company's first export plan on September 23. Both vehicles will be sold in Egypt through the local Nissan distribution network.

"The start of exporting is testimony to the high quality of vehicles DFL PV builds," said Colin Dodge, senior vice president of Nissan Motor Co, at the time. "We will continue to work to develop the market in China and evaluate the feasibility of developing additional export markets."

By the end of last month, Nissan's cumulative production at the joint venture reached 1 million units. This milestone came just five years after the company was established.
