Jiangling Motors sells 6,920 vehicles in October

Nov. 5, 2008 (China Knowledge) - Jiangling Motors Corp Ltd, one of the largest commercial vehicle enterprises in China, sold 6,920 vehicles in October this year, compared with 6,994 units a year earlier, according to its filing with the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on Tuesday.

Of the total, sales of Ford Transit-series commercial vehicles, light trucks, pickups, SUVs and microbuses amounted to 2,087 units, 2,628 units, 1,882 units, 360 units and 40 units, respectively.

During the same month, it produced a total of 5,487 vehicles, including 1,538 Ford Transit commercial vehicles, 2,088 light trucks, 1,758 pickups, 78 SUVs and 25 microbuses, according to the statement.

In the first ten months, Jiangling Motors, in which the U.S. auto giant Ford Motor Co holds a 30% stake, produced 82,832 vehicles including 23,626 Ford Transit commercial vehicles, 33,511 light trucks, 22,884 pickup trucks, 2,294 SUVs and 517 microbuses, and sold 82,416 vehicles including 23,170 Ford Transit commercial vehicles, 33,480 light trucks, 22,775 pickups, 2,476 SUVs and 515 microbuses.
