Shanghai, November 10 (Gasgoo.com) General Motors' passenger car venture in China is recalling 209 MY2009 Cadillac CTS vehicles in the country to fix potential problems with airbags, China's quality supervision body, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, said late on Friday.

The recall covers some Cadillac CTS vehicles produced between July 14, 2008, and August 7, 2008, which are reported to have a software problem within the passenger-airbag sensing system. The electronic glitch may lead to the failure of the front passenger air bag when it should function or vice-versa.

Worldwide GM is recalling12,662 MY2009 Cadillac CTS vehicles due to the problem. GM's dealers will reprogram the 2009 CTS' passenger sensing system module free of charge.

In September GM also announced to recall 511 Cadillac Escalade vehicles due to some defect in the windshield washer fluid heater system which, in rare cases, may cause a fire.
