All-new BMW M3 to shine at Guangzhou auto show
Shanghai, November 10 (Gasgoo.com) BMW China has announced that the fourth-generation BMW M3 Coupe, four-door sedan and convertible models will be displayed at the upcoming Guangzhou auto show next week, said xinhuanet.com today. The three new BMW M3 models are priced between 1.066 million ($156,100) yuan and 1.2 million yuan in China.
Exteriorly and technically different from its predecessor, the BMW M3 has nearly 80% of its parts newly-developed. It is a high performance BMW M GmbH version of the popular BMW 3-Series compact automobile. The three new M3 models have been derived from the E30, E36, E46 and E90/E92/E93 3-series. Common upgrades over the "standard" 3-Series automobiles include more powerful and responsive engines.
The new BMW M3 comes for the first time with an eight-cylinder power unit. Displacing 3,999 cc, the new V8 develops maximum output of 414 bhp, together with peak torque of 295 lb-ft at 3,900 rpm. The BMW M3 with M double-clutch transmission with Drivelogic is able to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.6-5.1 seconds, and the top electronic speed limit is 250 km/h.
The three new-generation BMW M3 models have been launched to the Chinese market recently and are available for ordering now at the BMW dealerships across the country. The BMW M3 Coupe is priced at 1.1 million yuan, the four-door sedan at 1.066 million yuan and the convertible model at 1.2 million yuan.
From January to September, BMW sold 47,342 cars in China, up from 36,300 a year earlier. BMW's deliveries in the country climbed 36% year on year to 5,280 vehicles in October.
