Shanghai, November 11 (Gasgoo.com) Japanese carmaker Mazda Motor, one third owned by Ford, is set to showcase its long-awaited Mazda 6 at the upcoming Guangzhou auto show later this month, said sina.com today. Meanwhile the upgraded dynamic Mazda2 and Mazda3 will make its China debut at the show.

The Mazda6, named "Ruiyi" in Chinese (meaning "wise wing"), is a light car powered by engine choices of a new 2.5 liter 4-cylinder and a 3.7 liter V6. It is available in two models - the Mazda6 sports sedan and the Mazda6-5-door. The all-new Mazda has become 85mm longer and its wheelbase has been increased to 2,725mm, offering more legroom than the old Mazda.

Offering plenty of Mazda's trade-mark "Zoom Zoom" vision, Mazda6 inherits the first generation Mazda6's sports performance and hi-tech features and also combines convenience, safety, and eco-friendliness together. The new Mazda6 model targets the high-end market of mid and high-grade cars as it's positioned significantly higher than its predecessor.

The new Mazda6, built on the Ford Mondeo platform, has larger front disc and anti-lock brakes with double wishbones in front. Other additions are adaptive lighting, parking sensors and active head restraints.

Mazda Motor will make the Mazda6 sedan in China through its local partner FAW Car Co. The first batch of 2.5-liter Mazda6 will go on sale in the Chinese market in early 2009, priced over 200,000 yuan ($29,240).

The will be more than 10 new Mazda vehicles to be displayed next week at the Guangzhou show, also including the upgraded dynamic Mazda2 and Mazda3 models to be made by Mazda Motor's another Chinese venture Chang'an Ford Mazda.
